The sculpture "RELEASED," which debuted at the ‘CONNECTION: TSUNAGARI’ exhibition in Vancouver in 2019, holds a special ecological significance for the artist. Crafted from 100% local and recycled red cedar wood – specifically leftover pieces from a friend's log cabin – its creation embodies a commitment to sustainability. The natural beauty of this familiar material is further enhanced through Yakisugi, an ancient Japanese scorching technique that brings out the intricate grain.
